Datos Co-Founder Joins Semrush to Spearhead Enterprise Data Strategy and Strengthen Data Capabilities Across Both Companies
Datos, a leading provider of enterprise-level clickstream data, today announced a leadership transition following its majority stake acquisition by Semrush. Datos Co-Founder and CEO Eli Goodman will step into a new role as President at Datos and, simultaneously, SVP of Product Solutions at Semrush. Serge Iakovlev, Datos’ current COO and Founder, will transition to Datos CEO.
Strengthening data leadership across both companies
In his new position at Semrush, Goodman will lead the company’s big data strategy and enterprise data solutions across the Semrush portfolio. This brand-new role builds on his career-long expertise in data strategy and enterprise-level data solutions, positioning him to unify a broad array of data capabilities into a common framework for global clients.
“Semrush’s majority stake in Datos was driven by the opportunity to integrate best-in-class enterprise data expertise into its growing ecosystem,” said Goodman. “I’m excited to continue shaping this vision, ensuring that our clients benefit from the most advanced and sophisticated data solutions available today.”
Goodman will continue guiding the revenue strategy for Datos, his primary strength. Prior to cofounding Datos, he held senior leadership roles at notable companies, such as Comscore, Gartner, and others. This track record positions him to drive Semrush’s enterprise initiatives while ensuring that Datos’ core strengths in clickstream data continue to deliver value for clients.
Semrush’s commitment to enterprise clients
Semrush sees Goodman’s appointment as a key step in deepening its enterprise strategy and advancing its data capabilities.
“Strong data capabilities are essential to any customer wanting to succeed in today’s complex and dynamic market. By bringing together Semrush’s scale with Datos’ deep data expertise, we’re able to build expanded solutions and further accelerate innovation in enterprise data strategies,” said Eugene Levin, President at Semrush. “This, combined with Eli’s leadership and expertise, will accelerate our ability to deliver greater value across the Semrush ecosystem.
A Natural Next Step
Datos’ new CEO, Serge Iakovlev, a strong figure in the alternative data space who brings years of solid industry experience, said, “Datos will continue focusing on alternative data and product development, with a special emphasis on creating high-value data assets for AI companies, so our clients gain the best insights and value.”
The transition represents the next natural step in the integration between Semrush and Datos. By aligning leadership across both organizations, they strengthen their market leadership and empower clients with more comprehensive solutions.
